ASTC introduces its own Online Ticketing Service

The Assam State Transport Corporation has decided to open its own online ticketing service for its bus services making it both efficient and user friendly.

The state of Assam has many players in the field of transportation. Almost all major services are available on booking platforms like Redbus. Previously the Assam State Transport Corporation depended on the over the counter ticketing. Third party ticketing organisations are also in the business. These cause a lot of logistic overheads as well as occasional clashed and losses to the organisation.

Online ticketing will make the booking more efficient as well as easier to handle for the end users. This online ticketing service is being developed by the Assam Electronics Development Corporation Ltd.

This website will not only allow the users to book their own tickets, but also to check all schedules and availability of services. People will be able to book tickets for both city services and long distance inter district services with ease.

Initially this service will be available in the Kamrup Metropolitan and Sonitpur districts of Assam. Inter district services will be started from Guwahati to Tezpur via Nagaon. Rest of the routes will be added gradually to the online ticketing service.

The tickets can be booked from this website. Passengers can reach the help desk for grievance redressal at astc2009@gmail.com. A 24 hour toll-free helpline number 1800-345-3986 has also been created to address passenger grievances in real time.

This is the second public transport service that the Assam Government has made E- Ticketing available after the inland waterways.
