Mizoram Tourism invites projects for Startup Fest and Competition

The Tourism Department of the Government of Mizoram has announced a Startup Fest and Competition to be held this year. For the same event, they invited projects pertaining to tourism and allied activities in the state. The winners will receive Rs 1,50,000, Rs 1,00,000 and Rs 80,000 respectively. They are also giving two consolation prizes of Rs 50,000 to the chosen participants.

This competition is open to all Indian citizens residing of Mizoram above 18 years of age. Entry can be given by one individual or a team. But each person or group can present only one entry to be considered. And the winner must be able to implement the idea within the next three months.

Projects related to smart solutions regarding attractions, accessibility and tacking can apply in this competition. New products and technologies related to hospitality and tourism can also apply in this fest. The last date of entries for the Startup Fest and Competition is the 14th of September. Presentations will be done from the 15th to 26th of September and winners will be declared on the 27th.

Located in Northeast India, the small state of Mizoram has multiple tourism destinations. But the connectivity and lack of proper publicity are the main reasons for the low tourist turnup in the state. And the tourism department is now working hard to change that by creating better tourist infrastructures and events. Example are the newly developed tourist lodges and Anthurium Festival.
