Food Photography refers to the capturing of images of various types of cuisines, raw materials, equipment or the action of cooking itself. With the growth in the blogging scene, proper photography has also become an essential feature.

Also the growth of social media like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest etc, the standard of photography has also gone to a very high level. Technology too has helped a lot in the growth of this trend. Previously a camera was thought to the pre-requisite of any type of photography. But these modern trends have challenged this notion.

  1. Light is the Key : The amount of light is what can make an ordinary looking dish stand out. This is true for any photography. But since a major portion of food photography happens indoors, light should always be perfectly arranged.
  2. Preserve Natural Colors and Elements : Editing or processing is an essential part of any form of photography, but too much editing is what makes it look fake. For example, adding out of plate elements by editing might just ruin the actual image.
