Maharashtra Issues Fresh Guidelines for Covid-19 Containment

In the wake of rising cases of Covid-19 in the state, Maharashtra Government has issued guidelines to contain the spread of the virus.

The Following guidelines have been imposed

  • All cinema halls (Single screens and Multiplexes), hotels, restaurants have been ordered to operate with 50 percent capacity.
  • No entry without proper mask will be allowed.
  • Temperature checking has to be maintained.
  • Adequate hand sanitizers must be made available.
  • Enough manpower to ensure mask and social distancing.
  • In case of violation of this order concerned cinema halls, hotel restaurant shall have to remain close for a period until the covid-19 pandemic stays.
  • Violation shall also attract penalty under the Disaster Act for owner of premises.

All shopping malls to adhere to following restrictions-

  • No entry without proper mask will be allowed. Temperature checking has to be maintained. Adequate hand sanitizers must be made available.
  • Enough manpower to ensure mask and social distancing.
  • In case of violation of this order concerned malls shall have to remain close for a period until the covid-19 pandemic stays.
  • More management to ensure that all establishments adhere to restrictions imposed by the government.

Guidelines for Government Offices

  • Govt offices except health and essential services will work at 50 percent attendance.
  • Work from home is advised.
  • Management of all religious places to decide and declare maximum visitors per hour depending on availability of space for movement and gathering with proper social distancing.
  • Online reservation is advised.
  • No entry without proper mask will be allowed.
  • Temperature checking has to be maintained.
  • Adequate hand sanitizers must be made available.
  • Enough manpower to ensure mask and social distancing.

Home isolation allowed with following restrictions-

  • Information must be given to local authorities about the medical personnel under whose supervision the isolation will be adhered to.
  • A board with proper visibility marking the 14 days and indication the covid positive patients must be put up.
  • Home quarantine stamps to be affixed on the positive patients.
  • Family members must restrict their movements outside.
  • Any violation of isolation shall lead to an immediate movement to covid care centre designated by local authority.
  • No social, political, religious, cultural gatherings are allowed.
  • Not more than 50 people allowed for wedding.
  • Not more than 20 people allowed for performance of last rites.

Maharashtra is among the few states in the country witnessing continuous surge in the number of Covid-19. Recently Gujarat government ordered closure of restaurants after 10pm in 8 wards of Ahmedabad in view of the covid-19 cases.
