Shillong: The 4th edition of the Hills Festival – Spirit of Meghalaya is ready to attract crowds once again. This year’s event will be organised on 1st and 2nd December in the Umbir Village near the Umium Lake. The event is organised by HYPE in association with Meghalaya Tourism.
The organisers mentioned that the event is going to be an unparalleled experience for the participants. It will be hosted at the breathtaking backdrop of Umium Lake, located just outside Shillong city. The Hils Festival is a two-day celebration of the Spirit of Meghalaya. It brings together music, art, culture and culinary enthusiasts from across the state.
The previous three editions were able to attract large crowds through its lineup of artists and schedule of popular events. This year, Meghalaya Tourism is expecting even larger crowds. The organisers mentioned that the 4th edition of The Hills Festival- Spirit of Meghalaya will have multiple events. Jaintia Cuisine will be celebrated this year with Forage Aisle in the presence of culinary experts from the tribe. A Pig Out Affair contest will also be hosted showcasing the finest local pork delicacies.
The event will also have a vibrant flea market for anyone interested in shopping. The children can also have a gala time at the Kids Play Area alongside reading sessions arranged for them. After the grand success of the camping scene last year, the organisers have also announced the Hills Campsite. Accommodation under comfortable tents for an immersive experience and cultural exchange. Arrangements for drinking water and charging water stations will be made at the venue. They also mentioned that the stage had been designed with bamboo.
