Purabi Dairy, the largest dairy co-operative of Assam celebrated International Women’s Day today in their plant and office in Guwahati. The women employees of the organisation as well as some of the women dairy farmers were present for the event.
This year’s Women’s Day celebration at the West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Limited was themed Power of W- Women of WAMUL. The objective of this Women’s Day program, was to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of the ladies associated with WAMUL. They come forward to #BreakTheBias, which is the theme of International Women’s Day 2022. It was also a platform for exchanging ideas and sharing experiences between the dairy farmers and the organisation. This event also included an exposure visit for the visitors to Purabi Dairy’s Milk Processing Plant.
The participants of the event also got an opportunity to interact with the guests Runa Rafique, a Livestock Entrepreneur in the piggery and poultry sector and Dr. Nilakshi Phukan Kumar, M.D. (O&G), Director of Gynaec Center, Guwahati. Both are self-made successful women and have inspired many others to reach their dreams. Runa Rafique is associated with poultry farming and building clusters. She currently leads two brands named Dhuwasang and Saraighat.
