Assam Cricket Team ready for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

The Assam cricket team is ready to participate in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The matches of the competition will be twenty over format.

The matches for the Assam cricket team will begin from the 11th of October. And Assam will play Vidarbha Cricket Team in its first match. The matches will be held in Rajkot in Gujarat. Also, the Assam team for this tournament was the declared.

The Assam team will also play some other matches before participating in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The team will leave home day after tomorrow. They will play four matches the state team of Odisha on different pitches across the state . These will be played on the 19th, 20th 22nd and 23rd of September. Thereafter they will return and play three matches against Meghalaya on the 4th, 5th and 6th of October. These seven matches are aimed to provide ample practice for the Assam team before going into the tournament.

The Assam Cricket Association took a press conference in the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium. They also mention about the upgradation of various amenities since the last big match. Located in the Barshapara region of Guwahati, this stadium will also be the venue of the upcoming T20 international match. Which will be played between the national teams of Indian and South African.

All roads leading to the stadium has been repaired recently. Also the state has allocated an extension to the stadium’s land, which allows parking for an additional 700 vehicles. Additional protection of the ground in case of heavy rains has also been procured. Thus developing the facilities for all cricketers across the state of Assam.
