Neroca FC beat TRAU FC in first Durand Cup match in Manipur

The Defense Minister of India inaugurated the Durand Cup in Manipur in a very colorful event yesterday. Manipur Chief Minster N Biren Singh, who was also a part of a Durand Cup team, was also present for the event. A cultural event was also part of the inauguration and it found the support of a full stadium.

Manipur produces a large number of football players and they participate in different completions including the Indian Super League. The game has a special craze in this Northeastern State, and that is why it was selected as the venue for ten matches of the Durand Cup. Neroca FC beat Tiddim Road Athletic Union FC in the inaugural match in the Khuman Lampak Stadium. In the first match between two home teams, Neroca FC claimed a 3:1 win.

Guwahati also got its second Durand Cup match today in the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium today. The tough contest between Delhi’s Sudeva FC and Kerala Blasters. It was a good contest between two evenly matched teams and ended as a draw. Both the teams managed to score a single goal each. After the pathetic performance of the home team in the first match, this match found only a handful of enthusiasts in the stadium.

Guwahati will get the third match out of ten matches of the tournament on Sunday. The home team Northeast United FC will face the Army Green team in this match. And the supporters are eagerly waiting to see the best players in action and beat the competitors.
