Odisha FC crushes NEUFC in the 3rd match of Durand Cup

Northeast United FC, also called the NEUFC suffered a crushing 6 : 0 defeat in the 3rd match of the ongoing Durand Cup.

The 3rd match of the series is also the first one ever in Northeast India in its history of 130 editions. The visiting Odisha FC team managed to score a total of six goals in the stipulated time. Whereas the home team, Northeast United FC did not manage to score even a single one. The weak home team looked feeble right from the start of the match in front of the visitors who managed to score goal after goal, three goals in each half of the match.

Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma was present for the match. A cultural show including presentation of martial arts forms from the region and traditional dance forms. The armed forces band also played several of their compositions before Papon and Ruben performed the tournament theme song.

This match happens to be the 1st of the 20 matches of the tournament to be hosted in the Northeast. The second on them them is scheduled for tomorrow evening in the Khuman Lampak Stadium of Imphal. Neroca FC will face Tiddim Road Athletic Union FC, both from the capital of Manipur, in this match.
