Arunachal Pradesh: Shops to Close at 2PM Everyday

In view of the rapid increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state, Arunachal Pradesh government on Saturday issued fresh SOPs.

The guidelines are as follows-

  • All Shops and commercial establishments shall shutdown at 2PM on all days.
  • Restaurant/dhabas and other eateries can entertain dine-in guests only upto 2pm.
  • Restaurants operating within a hotel or resort can allow outside guests upto 2pm only in-house guests of the hotel/resort may be provided room service.
  • Delivery of essential goods through e-commerce may continue with observance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour.
  • Cold storages and ware houses may continue after 2pm. However sale counters showrooms etc attached to these warehouses or cold storages shall not operate after 2 pm.
  • Pharmacies, hospital, animal care centres and veterinary clinics may operate without restrictions being providers of essential and emergency services.
  • All govt offices shall function till 2pm with 30% Group C staff (on roaster basis as prepared by HOD or HOO).
  • All Group A and B officials shall attend office till 2pm.

Movement of goods/person related to commercial and private establishments providing following essential services/commodities shall continued to be allowed-

i)Shops dealing with food groceries, fruits and vegetables, diary and milk booths, meat and fish animal fodder, pharmaceuticals and medicine and medical equipments.

ii) Banks , insurance offices and ATMs.

iii)Telecommunication. internet services, broadcasting and cable services, IT services.

iv) Delivery of all essential goods including food, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment through e-commerce.

v) Petrol pumps, LPG, CNG, Petroleum and gas retail and storage outlets.

vi) Power generation, transmission and distribution units and services

vii) cold storage and warehousing services

viii) Private security services

ix) Manufacturing units of essential commodities and industrial production units or services which require continuous process.

x) All establishments and personal related to print and electronic media.

  • Marriages and religious functions will be only private affairs and be allowed with presence of maximum of 10 persons. No reception party will be allowed.
  • Funeral/last rites related gathering shall not more than 10 persons.
  • All religious places shall remain closed till further orders.
  • All public transport will be allowed to operate only upto 30 per cent of seating capacity.
  • Auto rickshaws, cycle rickshaws and taxis shall operate with one driver and two passengers.
  • Pillion riding will be totally prohibited for two wheeler except with women and children.
  • All vehicles other than govt vehicles will be allowed to ply in accordance with an odd even formula to be decided by the jurisdictional district disaster management Authority between 5am to 2pm. However this restrictions shall no apply to personal vehicles used for medical emergencies.
  • There shall be curfew ,meaning total ban on movement of individuals from 3pm to 5am daily except for exemptions to emergency/essential services and departments and those going Covid-19 vaccination with proof of session/site registration.
  • In respect of areas not covered by this order the regulations given vide order dated 7th May 2021 shall remain in force.
  • The orders will come into effect from 5am of 16th May 2021 until further orders.

As on May 15, Arunachal Pradesh stands at 2202 active cases of Covid-19 in the state.
