Swapnil Naik meets tourism stakeholders of Arunachal Pradesh

The Northeast Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh is looking forward to boosting its tourism sector. To that end, the tourism department organized a coordination meeting in the state with the visit of the Secretary for Tourism and Civil Aviation Swapnil Naik.

The tourism officers of the state took part in the coordination meeting held on August 24. The tourism department organized this meeting in the State Food Craft Institute, IG Park. The officials discussed various topics pertaining to taking the sector forward in the coming days. Secretary for Tourism and Civil Aviation Swapnil Naik also attended this meeting. Minister for Tourism in Arunachal Pradesh, Nakap Nalo was also present. 

Previously Swapnil Naik has also taken part in a meeting of the tourism stakeholders. In this meeting, the stakeholders highlighted several problems faced by the people in the tourism sector. While the Secretary highlighted the need to develop the state’s tourism framework in the state. And said that this will ensure the larger footfall of tourists in the state. 

The officer also sought suggestions and feedback from the stakeholders and the public regarding the Arunachal Tourism Trade Act 2016. The Director of Tourism in Arunachal Pradesh, Kesang Ngurup Damo also attended this meeting. He underlined the importance of the preservation of the biodiversity of the state. He also mentioned that steps are being taken towards the identification of new tourism destinations. The official also spoke about the creation of new tourist circuits across the state. 

The tourism sector in the state of Arunachal Pradesh is highly seasonal. The festivals organised by the state attract a large number of tourists. Special mention can be made about the Ziro Festival of Music, which attracts large crowds to the Ziro Valley. The Dambuk Orange Festival is another popular event. Tawang, Namsai, Shergaon and Dirang are some of the popular tourist destinations. Roing, Tezu and Anini are also becoming popular among visitors.
