No Exemptions from Testing in Assam, even for the Fully Vaccinated

In an attempt to stop any further spread of the new variants of the Covid-19 virus in the state, the Government of Assam has made testing compulsory for everyone coming to the state. An order issued by the state, all travelers to the state must undergo testing at railway stations and airports, revoking the previous order.

According to the order strict containment measures are being taken across the state to prevent further spreading. These measures include continuous testing and screening of incoming passengers by both air and railway routes. Also it has been observed that few people are found to be Covid positive in-spite of taking both doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

In an earlier order issued by the Assam government (Order No. HLA.264/2020/21 , Dated Dispur, the 25th June, 2021) people vaccinated with both the doses were exempted from mandatory testing on arrival at airports or railway stations in Assam. And the same order has been withdrawn with immediate effect.

Assam Government had decreased restrictions in the state following a decrease in the positive cases. The increase in cases has led to complete lockdown in few districts of the state and limited number of curfew hours in the rest of the districts.
