Nagaland withdraws the COVID-19 Restrictions

A meeting was held between the High Powered Committee on COVID-19, members of the State Level War Room and the Department of Health and Family Welfare of Nagaland on the 15th of February. And the decision was taken to withdraw restrictions related to COVID-19 in the state.

The committee took into account the overall COVID-19 situation of the sate as well as the country as a whole. Recommendations of the Health and Family Welfare Department was considered. And henceforth the state withdraws the COVID-19 restrictions while the focus will be on increased vaccination and COVID Appropriate Behavior. The State Executive Committee withdraws the following restrictions throughout the state. These will come to effect immediately and stay in force till the 28th of February.

  • All social, cultural, sports, religious, entertainment, academic functions, political, and other public gatherings outside containment zones up to 100% capacity. Indoor and outdoor events are allowed if all the participants are asymptomatic and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Also all the participants will observe COVID-19 appropriate behavior and relevant SOPS.
  • All malls, shopping complexes, cinema halls, restaurants, theaters, parks, places of entertainment and recreation areas are allowed to operate up to 100% capacity, given that all the visitors, staff and all others concerned being asymptomatic, and fully vaccinated.
  • Offline classes for students in pre-primary classes will be allowed from 1st of March with 50% attendance and parental consent of the students. And subject to the following of all the conditions and Standard Operating Procedure to be issued by the Home Department.
  • Tourists and travelers to the state older than 12 years of age will no longer need to carry COVID negative certificate if fully vaccinated. Provisions of this notification needs to be followed.
  • Local bus service, Inter-District Bus Service, taxis and other public transportation will now be allowed to operate with up to 100% capacity. However the driver, attendants and passengers must be fully vaccinated or must carry a COVID-19 negative certificate not older than 72 hours. Also COVID Appropriate Behavior must be followed adequately along with all the SOPs.
  • Night Curfew in the state stands lifted from 16th February 2022.
