Haflong Ethnic Fusion Amphitheater: Newest attraction in Haflong

Haflong gets a new amphitheater on Saturday, June 10. The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, Debolal Gorlosa inaugurated the project. Named the Haflong Ethnic Fusion Amphitheatre, it is located at Haflong Lake. 

Speaking on the occasion, Debolal Gorlosa called it a momentous occasion. He said that this will now become one of the most popular places in the region. And provide opportunities for a variety of events in the heart of the Haflong town. He also mentioned that the Haflong Ethnic Fusion is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage. And added that the venue will not be limited just to musical events. It will also be used to showcase the diversity of the region’s ethnic diversity and unique traditions. 

The inaugural event was attended by local dignitaries and enthusiasts from across the region. It started with a traditional Dimasa dance. Which was followed by dance performances by other tribes of the state. Musicians from the region also showcased their talents during the event. Ugen Namgyal Bhutia, a guest artist from Gangtok UNB also took part in the inaugural event.

Although the region faced rains due to the monsoon rains during the event, it hardly had any effect on the people who attended the event. This showed the public’s enthusiasm towards the Haflong Ethnic Fusion opening event. They also showed great support towards the local artists. 

The chairman of DHAC Ranu Langthasa was also present along with several other elected members. BJP President Dima Hasao Donpainon Thaosen and Director of Tourism Dima Hasao, Nirmendu Kemprai were also present.

Debolal Gorlosa also thanked all the people who attended the event over social media. He also mentioned that this new project will become a major tourist attraction in future.
