Helicopter Services to Resume in Sikkim

In an notification issued by Sikkim Government on Saturday, Helicopter services have been allowed to resume for regular operations from 1st October. The notification was issued by the Principal Secretary R. Telang.

The state government has also decided to allow free interstate movement of people from October 1st without requiring any registration.



As per the notification, there will be complete lockdown within only the GMC area from 21st September to 27th September.

During this period, all restaurants, bars, fast food centers, sweet shops, bakeries shall remain closed. All hotels, guest houses, home-stays shall also remain closed except those impaneled by the DM, East.

Apart from these, the health department will also issue fresh Covid-19 protocols for free interstate movement of people w.e.f 1st October 2020.

Inner Line Permits(ILP) for foreign tourists having valid visas shall be issued from 10th October.

In consultation with Health Department, the Tourism Department shall issue an SOP for hotels, home-stays and other tourism related services with effect from 10th October. The bookings for hotels and home-stays complying with the SOP shall start from 27th September 2020.

The government has also decided to lift the odd-even restrictions for movement of taxis and passenger vehicles from 1st October. However, private vehicles shall continue to follow these restrictions till further orders.
