Thailand Opens its Doors for Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Tourists

Thailand is a very popular tourist destination in Asia. Its pristine beaches, exotic palaces and ancient Buddhist architecture make it one of most soth for vacation spots. For the Indian tourist, Thailand is a perfect romantic getaway and one of the favorite honeymoon destinations.

The country has published a set of requirements that tourists need to fulfill to visit Thailand. For the people who are fully vaccinated, the passport, visa ( Thailand Pass), health insurance worth more than $10,000 for any possible treatment in the country and a copy of the vaccination certificate showing that the person has taken all the doses of any registered vaccine. While unvaccinated or partially vaccinated tourists need to carry a RT-PCR test report not older than 72 hours prior the start of journey. They can also opt for a five day quarantine after reaching the country. In that case proof of payment for a quarantine period of 5 nights in a SHA++ category hotel and an RT-PCR test must be attached. For children between the age of 5 and 17 travelling alone to the country, atleast one dosage of vaccine is compulsory that too at-least 15 days before travelling. There is however no restriction for children travelling with their parents.

The Covid-19 global pandemic had caused several serious problems for the tourism sector. Tourism dependent countries like Thailand were amongst the worst effected. A very high percentage of employees lost their jobs because of the lack of foreign tourists. Phuket region however allowed international tourists before.
