Local Utpaat joins the 1 Crore Club in three weeks of release

Local Utpaat has joined the exclusive club of Assamese movies to cross the 1 Crore mark in the box office profits. In just three weeks after its release, this action – comedy has turned out to be a huge success in the industry.

The Assamese film industry is not as big as the rest of the regional and local language industries. A large number of films are released every year but a huge majority of the movies are very small budget. They make it to a few screens within the state and hardly break even. Once a while a few large budget movies with mega stars are released which make it large on the box office.

Getting sales of tickets worth 1 Crore is already difficult given that Assam has only about 50 theaters and the vast majority of them are in Guwahati. Meaning that the film had a large number of houseful shows in almost every screen. It was also released in limited theaters in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in the second week. The team also expects to release it in theaters across Noida, Navi Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune and Hyderabad in the coming week. They also plan to host projector screenings in locations without permanent theaters.

The team expressed gratitude to all the public for making this movie such a huge success. They also hopped that upcoming projects also get the same treatment and acceptance in the halls.
