Blood Donation Camp

Blood Donation Camp organized on the occasion of Netaji’s 125th Birthday

A popular online community of blood donors organized a blood donation camp to celebrate the 125th birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The Human Helping Hand Blood Donors Organisation organised the blood donation camp in the Goshala region of Maligaon in Guwahati. The camp was held today from 9 AM to 2 PM and a total of 30 units of blood were donated. The special blood donation bus belonging to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital was used for this camp and the collected blood will be deposited in the Blood Bank of GMCH.

Speaking to Discover East, Venkat Rao, the main organizer of this event expresses his gratitude to each and everyone who came forward to the camp. Although India has a huge population, very few come forward to willingly donate blood, he mentioned. He also requested more and more youth to join this nobel cause.

The community is also very active in reaching out and helping any patient who is in need of this precious resource in the region. Special emphasis is given patients coming from other states and weaker economic background.
