No more Picnics in Kamrup District of Assam

The district administration of the Kamrup District of Assam has decided to stop picnics for this year.

Picnics are day long trips with family or friends or colleagues and they usually involves collectively cooking at the venue. The picnic season starts towards the end of November and continues till the end of January in Assam.

In a press release issued by the deputy commissioner mention the reason of the closure of the picnic spots to be the Covid-19. Since people are found not to follow the Covid Appropriate Behavior in these places, this is the only way to control the further spread of the virus in the district and the state as a whole. No one wears any masks or maintain social distancing.

Sitting on the vicinity of the Guwahati city, this district has a large number of both beautiful and popular picnic destinations. Few of the noteworthy locations include Ukiam, Kulsi, Chandubi, Baregaon, Rani Khamar, Kopili, Kedar, Dirgeswari, Madan Kamdev and Malang Sidubi or Houhuapara. Apart from these mentioned locations, any other destinations in the district will be closed off for any gatherings.

The Covid-19 situation is deteriorating with growing number of positive cases in the state of Assam. This order comes to effect immediately.
