With 7 National Parks, Assam ranks 3rd in the number of Parks per state

With the recent notification about the two new protected regions namely Raimona National Park and Dihing Patkai National Park puts Assam in the third rank of number of National Parks in a single state or union territory. Assam now has a total of seven National Parks .

National Park is the region with the highest level of protection for nature in India. Any kind of adverse activity is banned and punishable inside these regions. And the following is the list of the seven parks in Assam which puts it in the third place.

  1. Kaziranga National Park
  2. Manas National Park
  3. Dibru-Saikhowa National Park
  4. Nameri National Park
  5. Orang National Park
  6. Raimona National Park
  7. Dehing Patkai National Park
Declaration of new National Parks

The 1st in this list is Madhya Pradesh with ten regions with this level of protection. They are Kanha National Park , Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Panna Tiger Reserve, Pench Tiger Reserve, Satpura Tiger Reserve, Sanjay-Dubri Tiger Reserve, Madhav National Park, Vanvihar National Park, Fossil National Park and Dinsaur National Park.

The second in the list is the Andaman and Nicobar islands with nine parks.

The creation of two more tourist destinations will definitely boost wildlife tourism in Assam and northeast India. The CM announced a few steps aimed at the development of Kaziranga National Park few days back.
