Meghalaya: Test Mandatory Even for Vaccinated People from Select States

Meghalaya government on Wednesday issued protocols making tests mandatory for persons entering the state as a rapid surge has been seen in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state.

These SOPs are to be followed w.e.f. 23rd April 2021.

The SOPs are as follows-

  • RT-PCR testing at entry points is mandatory for all persons visiting the state irrespective of any other Covid negative test reports.
  • People coming from Maharashtra, DElhi, UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Karnataka and Kerala will not be exempted from testing even if they possess a valid final certificate of vaccination.
  • All persons entering the state except those mentioned above, will be exempted from testing if they possess a valid final vaccination certificate.
  • International passengers will be tested at the entry points on payment basis and will have to undergo home or paid quarantine for 7 days irrespective of their test results.
  • All persons tested by RT-PCR at the entry points will have to undergo 7 days of Home or paid quarantine till the test results are out.
