Kaziranga to reopen for tourists from October 15

The Kaziranga National Park is one of the most popular tourist destinations from across the Northeastern region. And it is ready to reopen for the tourists this coming Sunday, October 15.

The authorities announced that a part of the park will reopen for tourists from October 15. The authorities took this decision as late flooding might affect some parts of the park. Tourists will be able to access all parts of the park by the beginning of November. According to the officials, visitors will have access to the Bimoli Tiniali as of now. Travelers can reach this location via the Donda Tower in the Western Range of Bagori. And Mihimukh via the Daflang Tower. The route will be through the Vaichamari Junction in the Kohora range. 

Also, only jeep safaris will be available as of now, and elephant safari in the park will be open next month. Also, jeep safaris will be available in the Kaziranga Range, Kohora and the Western Range, Bagori. The officials also informed that the safari services will see a temporary closure on Wednesday afternoon. 

It can be mentioned that the reopening of the national parks mark the beginning of the tourism season in the state. The monsoons govern the highly seasonal tourism sector of the country. The National Parks of the state close for visitors with the arrival of monsoons and reopen after it ends. 

Apart from being the home for the One Horned Rhinoceros, the Kaziranga National Park has a wide variety of flora and fauna. Multiple big cats including the Royal Bengal Tiger, are also found in large numbers. Thus making it one of the most popular wildlife destinations in the country. 

The officials had also announced that an online system will be in place for booking safaris. This will help the authorities keep track of the tourists and maintain the schedules.
