Guwahati, August 10: Abhigyanm Natyakshetra, in proud collaboration with Sankardev Shishu Niketan, Maligaon, successfully drew the curtains on its Summer Drama Workshop with a vibrant closing ceremony held on August 9th. The event celebrated the artistic growth and dedication of its young trainees through a series of captivating theatrical and musical performances.
Hosted by Manabendra Ranhang Choudhary, the cornerstone of Abhigyanm, the ceremony was graced by a host of distinguished guests from the regional arts and education communities. Notable attendees who came to support the young artists included Dipa Chetry, Pradhan Acharya, Sankardev Shishu Niketan, Maligaon; Paresh Deka, Principal of Adingiri Middle English School; Bhaskar Shandilya, Renowned Musician; Apurba Burman, Prominent Actor; Dhiraj Kumar and Pankaj Neog, Acclaimed Playwright and Actor.
During the finale, the trainees showcased their newly honed stage presence with an energetic group dance set to three popular songs by regional icon Zubeen Garg, choreographed by Hridoy Deka . The highlight of the evening, however, was a full theatrical production named Lotkon, based on a tale of Rasaraj Lakshminath Bezbaruah directed by chief instructor Kuladeep Talukdar. Music was done by Ajay Mech and assisted by Barsha Das and Tarali Basumatary, costume design by Sunita Barman, setting by Ajanta Hazarika and light design by Pragya Talukdar.
The stage came alive with the enthusiastic performances of the workshop trainees, who demonstrated remarkable talent and teamwork. The cast included Gitaraj, Chinmay, Syamantika, Vanicha, Raktim, Momi, Hiyashree, Kabyashree, Suman, Niyor, Ruhi, Adarsh, Ayush, Achika, Gargi, Mausumi, Nilan, Anurag, Divyajyoti, Panchi, Dreamlina, Asmita, and Divyanshu.
The Abhigyanm Summer Workshop continues its tradition of nurturing the next generation of creative minds, fostering a deep appreciation for the performing arts in Assam.
