Assam’s Kaziranga opens for Elephant Safari for the new season

One of the most popular tourism destinations in the Northeastern part of India, the Kaziranga National Park opened its doors for Elephant Safari on November 1, Monday. Elephant safari in the wilderness of Kaziranga is one of the most sought-after services in the park.

The announcement regarding the opening was made earlier by the park authorities. The officials and mahouts undertook a religious ceremony before the formal opening. They prayed to Lord Ganesha before the opening and sought His blessings for a smooth tourism season ahead. The  First batch of tourists availing the service were also able to enjoy the same on Wednesday morning.

“Embracing the divine presence of Lord Ganesha as we kickstart the elephant safari season! May his blessings guide our journey and fill it with joy and wonder. Here’s to a season filled with amazing wildlife encounters!!” The official handle of the Kaziranga National Park and tiger Reserve over Facebook.

Tourists and enthusiasts often prefer elephant safari over Gypsy Safari while visiting the park. This is because the elephants allow the viewing of other animals in the park from a very short range. And this is especially useful for those who want to observe animals like the one-horned rhinoceros in its natural habitat. This is also very useful for the large number of bird watchers who visit the park.

The Kaziranga National Park and tiger reserve has a wide range of flora and fauna. And these attract a large number of tourists, both domestic as well as foreign, every year. Although the authorities opened parts of the park earlier for tourists, they allowed only the Gypsy safari. The opening of the National Parks in the region marks the start of the tourism season in the region. And they remain open till the monsoons, which marks the closing of the tourism season.
