In a bid to improve the passenger facilities, the Guwahati Airport has introduced a Park and Fly facility. This way, travelers can safely keep their vehicles at the airport and take a trip. And when they return, they can take their own vehicle and travel to wherever they want.
This new facility is expected to help a large number of people in the region. These include both solo travelers and families who expect to take a short trip. Such travelers can now enjoy the to-and-fro journey from the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in the comfort of their own vehicles.
According to the authorities, there are ample slots available at the airport right now. As of now, up to 200 four-wheeler vehicles and 20 two-wheelers can be parked under this facility. It also has a valet service to help travelers park their vehicles safely for the duration of the journey. As for the charges of this Park and Fly Facility, users have to pay Rs 200 for 24 hours of parking. This price is inclusive of all necessary taxes levied by the authorities.
The concerned travelers can leave their vehicles at specific drop-off locations at the airport. Well-trained personnel attend to the valet service of these vehicles. These trained individuals ensure the proper parking and safety of the vehicle thereafter. The travelers won’t have to park their vehicles and will be able to move directly towards boarding areas. Similarly, they can claim their vehicles directly after exiting the airport.
Given the prices of the parking, travelers can easily use this facility compared to the prices of cabs to and from the airport. Given that the prices of cabs are very high in the region. ASTC had also recently launched airport bus services from Paltan Bazar and Khanapara.
