Nazirating Tamuli Tourism Festival 2024 attracts tourist crowds

As 2024 dawned, the banks of the Dibru River in Digboi, Assam bustled up with festivities. The Nazirating Tamuli Tourism Festival had begun, painting the picturesque landscape with a vibrant tapestry of culture and community spirit.

The festival’s inauguration was a star-studded affair, graced by Rameshwar Teli, the esteemed Minister of State in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Suren Phukan, the Digboi MLA and chairman of the organising committee.

Adding blessings and cultural wisdom to the event were the Satradhikar of the Tamuli Bongaon and Doomdooma MLA Rupesh Gowala. Completing the ceremony with a flourish was Laxmi Nandan Gogoi, the former Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar district, who officially flagged off the festivities from the Digboi Sammanai Khetra.

The main stage throbbed with a pulsating rhythm as talented performers took centre stage. Traditional dances enthralled the audience with their energetic steps and colourful costumes. Melodious folk songs filled the air, carrying tales of the region’s rich history and vibrant traditions.

The infectious energy of the festival transcended age and background, drawing locals and visitors together in a joyous symphony of celebration. The shared laughter, the rhythmic clapping, and the twinkle of shared joy in every eye painted a beautiful picture of unity and cultural pride.

Food stalls offered delectable local delicacies, while artisans displayed their intricate handicrafts, each piece a testament to the region’s skilled craftsmanship.
