Pramod Boro unveils Durand Cup trophies in Kokrajhar

The three Durand Cup trophies were unveiled in Kokrajhar on Saturday in a very colourful event. Kokrajhar is the third venue of the tournament with several matches of Group F being played there. Bodoland Territorial Region chief Pramod Boro attended the unveiling of the three trophies in Kokrajhar. 

Along with Pramod Boro, the event was also attended by several other dignitaries. Kalyan Chaubey, the President of the All India Football Federation, and State minister for sports Nandita Gorlosa also attended the event. Major General Dinesh Hooda, Chief of Staff of the Gajraj Corps also attended the unveiling with footballer Apurna Narzary. 

The trophies were also taken out on a parade across the town for public viewing. 30 bikers including 5 women escorted the trophies on this tour. 

The organisers also unveiled the trophies in several cities of the country. These included Guwahati and Shillong in Northeast India before Kokrajhar. They will also be taken to the capitals of Bangladesh and Nepal for the first time. It will also host the matches of this prestigious tournament for the first time this year. 

The first match in Kokrajhar is expected to be played on August 5th. Guwahati will host its first match on the 4th of August between Northeast United and Shillong Lajong.  Kokrajhar will host a total of nine matches of the 132nd Durand Cup.
