Abhigyanm celebrates World Theater Day

Abhigyanm celebrated the World Theater Day on the 27th of March in the premises of the Abhigyanm Natyokhetra with a day long program.

World Theater Day is celebrating on the 27th of March. The aim is to making this form of performing art more and more popular across the world. The International Theatre Institute first organised this event in 1962.

Abhigyanm organised a day long event to celebrate this day. Multiple poems were recited by both young and experienced participants. Arup Jyoti Baruah also sang a few songs on this event. But the key attraction of event was the enacting of a play by child artists of the locality. These were the same children who participated in the workshop that was organised earlier in the same venue. A tree plantation drive was also carried out as a part of the day. The whole event was organised and managed under the supervision of Kuldeep Talukdar.

Abhigyanm is an non governmental organisation working towards the training and promotion of the traditional performing art forms of the region. They also are the organizers of the Adingiri Theater Festival, an annual event to showcase and enjoy this art form in a very natural and picturesque location.
