Assam to Impose Night Curfew till May 1

Due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state Assam government has decided to impose night curfew with immediate effect till May 1 2021. The curfew will be imposed in all districts of Assam except for essential and emergency services.

As per the notification there will be a total ban movement of individuals from 8PM to 5AM daily.

However, there will be certain exceptions which are as follows:

  1. Officers/Officers of Govt of India/Govt of Assam/its autonomous subordinate offices and public corporations involved in emergency services will be exempted from the curfew.
  2. All judicial officers/officials of courts of Assam will be exempted from the curfew on producing I cards.
  3. All private medical personnel such as doctors, nursing staff, paramedical staff, etc and other medical services will be exempted from the curfew.
  4. Pregnant women and patients for getting medical services will be exempted from the curfew.
  1. Persons coming from/going to Airports/railway stations/ISBTs will be allowed to travel on producing valid tickets.
  2. Officials related to functioning of offices of diplomats of various countries as well as persons holding any constitutional posts will be exempted on production of valid I cards.
  3. Electronic and print media will be exempted on production of valid i cards.
  1. There shall be no restrictions on inter-state or intra-state movements, transportation of essential/non essential goods.
  2. Movement of persons related to commercial and private establishments providing following essential services/commodities shall be allowed-
  • Shop dealing with food, groceries, vegetables, fruits, dairy and milk booths, meat and fish, animal fodder, pharmaceuticals, medicines and medical equipment.
  • Bank, insurance offices and ATMs.
  • Telecommunications, internet services, broadcasting and cable services, IT and IT enables services.
  • Delivery of essential services including food, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment through e-commerce.
  • Petrol Pumps, LPG, CNG Petroleum and gas retail and storage outlets.
  • Power generation, transmission and distribution units and services.
  • Cold storage and warehousing services.
  • Private security services.
  • Manufacturing units of essential commodities.
  • Production units or services, which require continuous process.
  1. Persons who are going for covid vaccination.
