Travel Guidelines for Inter-State Commute in India

The Covid -19 global pandemic has created a lot of problems for everyone. One of the main issues is the problem of travelling. People are stuck in different places and unable to commute to their home or office due to travel restrictions. So Discover East brings to you a list of Travel Guidelines for traveling to different states.

These restrictions about Inter- State travel among various states and they are observed at any entry point of the mentioned state.

  • Assam – Seven Days of Institutional Quarantine followed by 7 days of Home Quarantine. Samples will be collected at entry points for testing.
  • Bihar – No compulsory quarantine, but Download and activation of Aarogya Setu App is compulsory.
  • Delhi – Seven Days of Home Quarantine. Exemption for Corporate and Business Travellers.
  • Goa – Fourteen Days of Home or Paid Institutional Quarantine. Covid Negative certificate is necessary. If it is not available, spot checking will be done.
  • Gujarat – Fourteen days Home Quarantine for all passengers. Those arriving in Surat must register beforehand.
  • Haryana – Fourteen Day Home Quarantine.
  • Jharkhand – No quarantine if the return date is within 72 hours of entry. Otherwise there will be fourteen days of Home Quarantine.
  • Karnataka – All travelers have to acquire e-pass from Seva Sindhu Portal. Fourteen days Home Quarantine compulsory even if negative. Exceptions are travelers from Maharastra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi.
  • Kerala – All passengers have to register with the government. E-pass will be necessary to enter and fourteen days of Home Quarantine.
  • Madhya Pradesh :
    • Bhopal – Positive cases will go for 10 days Institutional followed by seven days Home Quarantine.
    • Indore – Indore 311 app must be downloaded and registered before arrival. Fourteen days Home Quarantine.
  • Maharastra – Fourteen days Home Quarantine is necessary. No need for those exiting Mumbai within seven days.
  • Odisha :
    • Urban Regions – Fourteen days Home Quarantine.
    • Rural Regions – Seven days Institutional and seven days Home Quarantine for all travelers.

  • Punjab – Registry on COVA Punjab App is mandatory before arrival. Fourteen days of Home Quarantine on arrival, exceptions for corporate and business travelers.
  • Rajasthan – Fourteen days of compulsory Home Quarantine for all travelers on arrival.
  • Tamil Nadu – Registry and E- Pass from state government is necessary for entry. Compulsory Covid -19 test for travelers from Maharashtra , Gujarat and Delhi. Fourteen days compulsory Home Quarantine for travelers from other states.
  • Uttar Pradesh – Compulsory registration with the state government. Fourteen days of Home Quarantine is compulsory.
  • West Bengal – Registration and self declaration by the traveler on the Sandhane App. Four days of Home Quarantine for asymptomatic passengers.

Note: International Passengers rules are different as per Government of India and State Governments.
