Assam govt issues fresh SOPs; Cinema halls to reopen after over a year

The Assam government on Friday relaxed the curfew hours in the state by 1 hour and open cinema halls of the state. The decision was taken owing to the decline in the number of COVID cases in the state.

As per the previous order, the curfew hours began from 9 PM. However, now the curfew hours shall begin from 10 PM and remain in effect till 5 AM.

The state health minister Keshab Mahanta in a press conference in Guwahati stated that the new guidelines will come into effect from October 1.

After remaining closed for over a year, cinema halls in the state have been allowed to reopen with 50% fully vaccinated audience. Vaccination certificates will be checked at during the issue of tickets at the cinema halls.

As per the new guidelines, shops have been permitted allowed to stay open till 9 PM.

50 persons will be allowed have been allowed participate in public meetings who are fully vaccinated. 

As many as 200 persons are allowed to attend marriage parties. However, the attendees should be fully vaccinated.

Teachers, students and staff who have been double jabbed will be allowed to attend schools.

60 devotees who can visit famous religious places per hour while the limit for other religious places is 40 per hour. The visitors have to be fully vaccinated.
