Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Wednesday inaugurated an Eco Tourism Project at Cheiraoching, Thangmeiband, Imphal. The project is aimed at promoting and giving a boost to the tourism sector the state. It includes a View Tower with a 180 degree visibility.
On the occasion the Chief Minister tweeted, “Inaugurated the Development of Eco-Tourism Project at Cheiraoching, Thangmeiband, Imphal, which will be a significant boost to Manipur’s tourism sector. The Eco-tourism project will have the most fascinating 180° view of Imphal City and surrounding areas.”
Last year in November, Tourism Minister O. Lukhoi Singh assured that the tourism project would be completed by early 2021. In a report, the tourism Minister earlier informed that the total cost of the project is of Rs 13.30 crores. This is a one of the many new tourist destinations being created across the northeastern part of the country.
The project is aimed at creating a recreational tourist spot for local tourists as well tourists from outside state and country from where they can enjoy the 180 degree view of the capital city Imphal from the view tower. The selected spot is located at the heart of the city thus making it convenient for the tourists.
