Sikkim Extends Lockdown Till May 31

In the wake of the rising Covid-19 cases, Sikkim government has taken the decision to extend the ongoing lockdown till May 31. The decision was taken as the positivity rate for Covid-19 continues to be more than 20 per cent.

As per the official order, all state government offices, private commercial establishments, institutions, gymnasiums, markets, and factories, other than those engaged in production of medicines, medical equipment, oxygen, health and hygiene care products and allied sectors shall remain closed.

Temi Tea Estate shall be permitted to operate with 50% of staff duly maintaining Covid-19 protocol.

Central Government Offices shall operate as per the instruction of the Government of India. The officers and staff working in such offices shall be allowed to travel to their offices and back during thus period on production of valid Government ID Card.

As per order, Loading/unloading of all food items, vegetables, milk etc shall be permitted from 5 am to 8 am. Transportation of all such items from wholesalers to retailers in commercial goods vehicles shall also be permitted between, 5 am to 8 am.

Movement of people and vehicles required for maintenance of all essential service shall be allowed.

Inter-district and nter-state movement of people and vehicles including passenger vehicles for essential goods shall be allowed.

Medicine shops, petrol pumps shall be allowed to remain open in Sikkim.

Milk vending shops, vegetable shops, ration shops and fair price shops will be permitted to remain open from 8 am up to 11 am.

Movement of boarding passengers boarding on returning from Pakyong Airport, Bagdogra Airport, NJP Railway Station on production of valid tickets. The condition of negative RT-PCR report conducted within48 hours of arrival or alternatively.
