Guwahati: Two-Wheeler Taxi Drivers on Indefinite Strike

Two-Wheeler taxi services in Guwahati including Ola, Uber and Rapido have called on for an indefinite strike from December 14 to stage protest against the high commission charged by the managment from them in spite of reducing the fares.

As per reports, the managment has surged the commission from Rs 4 to 30% which is taken from the Rapido drivers. Uber and Ola drivers have also joined hands with Rapido in this indefinite strike.

Reports suggest that the rides which used to cost around Rs50 have now been reduced to almost of the fare.

As reported by Sentinel, four-wheeler drivers are also likely to join the protest from December 15 if their demands are not met.

The unavailabity of the services has caused inconveinience to the commuters on Monday morning as most commuters prefer these services over bus services for safety concernsa amid the pandemic.
