New Kit for Assam Team in the National Games

The new kit for the sports persons from the state of Assam, participating in National Games was revealed today. The event was held in Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium today.

The launch of the official kit for the players saw the presence of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Ex CM and current Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Minister of AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal was also present. Several sports persons and dignitaries representing the sports committees and associations were also present for the event. This event was also an official send-off for the players and their trainers competing in the National Games. Several of these players have won medals in national and international tournaments.

The 36th National Games will be held in Gujarat this year. It will kick of the 27th of September and ends on the 10th of October. And tens of thousands of athletes from multiple disciplines will compete for the top spots in this event.

Unlike previous years, the state has made the arrangements for players to go by flights. As mentioned by the chief minster, this will not only save time for the players but also decrease their travel fatigue. With the growth in competitiveness as well as recent Assam Youth Olympics, the state is expected to bring more medals.
